Single mom

Scott is gone to San Antonio for a conference. He left this morning and will not be back until Sunday. It just happens that we have planned to go to San Antonio for a family vacation next week, so Scott is going to hunt down some fun places for us to go while he’s there.

Though I have spent my share of time alone with the kids, I am a little worried. As you know, Zachary has a tendency to hurt himself. The broken collar bone and the chipped tooth both occurred during a time that we were down to just one parent — once when I was gone to class and the other when Scott was gone to work. I may be jinxing myself here, but it’s been a while since Zachary has “had a great fall.” I am really hoping we’ll not have any this weekend.

The kids’ social calendar is quite full for the weekend, so maybe we’ll be too busy for any mishaps. Zachary has been invited to two parties for some friends at school and Emily has been invited to a party in Plainview. The parties themselves don’t overlap, unless you include the drive from Plainview to Lubbock. We’ll have to leave one slightly early to get to the other, but I think we’re going to make it to everything.

Of course, the weather could keep up from doing anything. We’ve had fluffy white snow flakes in the air all today. It did this on Monday, followed by two days of sunshine. It hasn’t been cold enough to stick today, so I am pretty sure we’ll still be able to make it to all our engagements.

It’s 5:00 on day one of Scott’s trip, and so far all is well. Hopefully that will continue.

  1. Definitely visit the Alamo. Also, the boatride on the Riverwalk (you can get on at several points on the Riverwalk) is lots of fun. When we went, we mainly just walked and shopped on the Riverwalk. Hope yall have fun!

  2. Sending in an advance scout is a good idea! The SA zoo is supposed to be fun. Of course you must see the Alamo.

Have fun! I can’t wait to see pictures!
